Schrodinger has been associated with the speed, power and accuracy of Jaguar's ab initio predictions. With the acquisition of MacroModel, Schrodinger has become highly competent in the field of molecular mechanics as well.

New Maestro interface will add uniformity across our many product lines, as well as provide exceptional ease-of-use for each of those tools. Maestro's first release contains support for MacroModel. Maestro's next release will contain support for Jaguar, and future releases of Maestro will interface our drug design suite. Maestro also contains many general-purpose features which could make it useful as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with third party software.

Maestro allows users to interact either graphically via a mouse or textually via commands. All graphical actions in Maestro are translated behind-the-scenes into equivalent text commands which the system executes and then stores. If commands are entered directly by the user, they are executed and stored as well. This has two important consequences:

1. All actions can be logged and repeated exactly as they were first performed. Thus the program is scriptable. Tools are provided to allow users to create scripts from scratch or by editing a set of previously performed actions.
2. Users can choose to interact with the program, entirely or in part, by directly typing keyboard commands rather than using the mouse.
