MOS Database

http://www.accelrys.com/chem_db/mos.html

MOS database is derived from the current awareness bulletin, Methods in Organic Synthesis, published monthly by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

MOS contains examples of useful, new synthetic methodology, abstracted from over one hundred of the most important organic chemistry journals. Each example includes an informative title, the literature citation and a reaction scheme, including information on the reagents, solvents and conditions used. A brief indication of the generality of the reaction (number of examples, yield and selectivity ranges etc.) is also provided, where appropriate. In addition, subject keywords are provided for reactions, reactants, reagents and products.

Topics covered by the database include functional group changes, carbon-carbon bond forming reactions, new reagents and synthons, enzymic and biological transformations, the introduction of chiral centres and the use of protective groups. MOS comprises over 3000 reactions per year and is available from 1991 to the present, with either purchase or lease options available.

Status:

The MOS database is an important current awareness tool which, since 1991, has become a valued source of literature highlights for organic chemists.
